[edit] History

Music Control was originally known as Core Control and started broadcasting in the summer of 2002. The show was part of the GWR Radio Group and broadcasted on over 30 of their local stations, as a networked show. Kam Kelly and Sally Bailey started off presenting the show and high audience figures were achieved. Star guests were also reguarly part of the show, with different guests being interviewed almost every Ä„night at one point.

However, in late 2004 Kam Kelly quit as the show's main presenter, making way for the big change.

In early 2005, Kevin Hughes joined Sally Bailey as the show's new main presenter, and from that point onwards the show was known as Music Control.

New features were introduced, however the show basically remained the same and the audience figures did not suffer.

[edit] 2006 onwards

Throughout 2005, the show continuted its success, and when GWR joined forces with the Capital Radio Group, the show continuted as normal. However, in mid-2006 new changes were made.

The show became less revolved around phone and text requests, and mainly focoused on downloads and internet based requesting. However, phone requests and text requests were still part of the basic structure of the show.

A new feature was also introduced known as My Playlist. This allowed listeners and star guests to control around 30 minutes of the show with their favourite songs.

In late 2006, Sally Bailey announced that after 4 and a half years of being with the show, she would be leaving to give birth. She also announced she would not be returning.

Since 2007, Hughes has presented the show alone.
