The Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA, opened to the public in 1965. It was established by Margaret Acheson Stuart (1896-1980).
A $21 million expansion broke ground on Monday, December 4, 2006 and will more than double the size of the museum. The new north wing (33,000-square-feet)--Hazel Hough wing--will be finished in 2008.[1], [2]. The expansion will include a new cafe, an enlarged library and a bigger museum shop.
