Museum of Erotic Art

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Museum of Erotic Art (Italian - Museo d'Arte Erotica) is a new museum in Venice, Italy, situated a few metres from St Mark’s Square. It is twinned with the Musée de l'Érotisme, in Paris and covers over 700 m2 across four floors. The various sections of the exhibition concentrate on different aspects of sexuality through the centuries (in visual art, the media, historic books, and other sex objects and curiosities). The Museum is centred upon the section "Venezia di Piacere" (Venice of Pleasure), which includes various erotic writers associated with Venice, such as Aretino, Franco, Cappello, Baffo, or Casanova.
