[edit] Trivia

  • Muscle Power is obviously based on Hulk Hogan. Apart from his appearance, he adopts Hogan's "arm flexing" pose, his common phrase of "Number One!" is a complete translation of Hogan's catchphrase of "Ichiban!" spoken while he was a member of New Japan Pro Wrestling, and his Muscle Bomber lariat mimics the Axe Bomber.
  • He actually resembled Hogan less and less with each game in the series. In World Heroes 2, he no longer had Hogan's mustache. In World Heroes 2 Jet, he no longer had Hogan's shirt-ripping opening pose. And in World Heroes Perfect, he was given a new winning pose (for winning without taking any damage), a dance with his hand on his hip, rather than Hogan's flexing.
  • Some also believe that the character parallels Lex Luger during his tenure in the World Wrestling Federation, though Luger's "All American" gimmick (with very similar red, white, and blue flag-patterned tights) started a year after World Heroes' was released.
  • One of his win quotes in the first WH game is translated as "You can find my picture in the dictionary under the word 'ultimate'." This is likely a reference to both Mr. Perfect (who employs a very similar line in a Game Boy WWF title) and The Ultimate Warrior, both of whom still retained some popularity at the time the game was released.
  • His hair color is variable between the games and the artworks. In-game, has blonde hair, but in artworks has tow-headed.
  • Also, Muscle Power is considerated as an "American Zangief" by the fans.
