The Muscle Museum EP was released on the 11 January 1999 on the Dangerous Records label, and was limited to 999 copies. It was the second EP that Muse released, the first being the Muse EP. The song was apparently conceived by Matt on a month-long trip to the Aegean[1]. The Muscle Museum EP entered the NME Indie single charts at number three, behind Mercury Rev and Fatboy Slim[1].
