Muridke

A major commercial city near Lahore, Pakistan, Muridke is situated on famous Grand Trunk Road and at the crossroads to Sheikupura, Gujranwala and Narang Mandi. The economic and social life of the town mainly depends on Lahore. Muridke was the birthplace of Iqbal Masih, and the home of cricketer Imran Nazir.
The main officies of banned Lashkar-e-Taiba and Markaz Ad-Dawa-wal-Irshad groups are located in Muridke, and in November 1999 three bombs exploded during a gathering of members, killing one and injuring 26 others.[1]
