Muráň Plain

Muráň Plain (Slovak: Muránska planina), also translated as Muráň Plateau, is a forested plateau-like region in central Slovakia. It lies in the Spiš-Gemer Karst, in the Slovak Ore Mountains (part of the Western Carpathian Mountains).

It is one of the youngest national park in Slovakia, opened by Vladimír Mečiar's administration in 1996.
