Sutton and Cheam was a local government district in north east Surrey, England from 1894 to 1965.
It was created as Sutton Urban District by the Local Government Act 1894 and contained the parishes of Sutton and Cheam, replacing the Sutton Sanitary District.
In 1928 the district was renamed Sutton and Cheam Urban District. It was expanded slightly in 1933 by taking in part of the disbanded Epsom Rural District. It gained the status of municipal borough in 1934.
In 1965, under the London Government Act 1963, the borough was abolished and its former area was transferred to Greater London, along with the Carshalton Urban District and the Municipal Borough of Beddington and Wallington, to form the present-day London Borough of Sutton.
