Multichannel Marketing

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Multichannel Marketing is marketing that employs the use of multiple marketing channels to reach potential customers. This strategy is used to provide multiple touchpoints to create consumer transactions.

Multi-channel marketing evolved out of the direct marketing discipline, where products did not have a retail storefront....rather, they were sold through catalog, postal, e-mail, and now online channels, and sharp attention was paid to the optimizing the ROI delivered by each, since response and conversion of sales were easily measured.

A good example of a Multichannel Marketer is J Crew, who sells their products through multiple channels, including -

- In-store
- Online
- Catalogs

Multi-channel marketing is about utilizing multiple channels to sell product, not to be confused with a product which is advertised through multiple mediums.
