Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur

Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur or MIHAN is an airport project for Dr. Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur.

The project aims to exploit the central location of Nagpur and convert the present airport into a major freight hub with integrated road and rail connectivity along with a Special Economic Zone.

The project consists of widening and extending the present runway to international standards (4000x60m) with a provision for a similar runway in the future. The airport will have parking space for 50 aircrafts at any time with 50 additional bays at fringe areas. The estimated cost of the project is 2500 crores covering a total area of 4025 hectares on the southern end of the city.

The Maharashtra State Government formed a special purpose vehicle in the name of Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) for development of MIHAN [1] and Singapore based Changi Airport have been selected as the consultants for the project[2]
