Muhammet Hanifi "Aka" Akagündüz (born 11 January 1978, in Bingöl, Turkey) is an Austrian footballer of Turkish descent currently playing as a striker for Hellas Verona in Serie B.
Akagündüz moved with his family to Austria in 1987 and he gained Austrian citizenship 3 years later. He excelled at school and enrolled on a medical education course while starting his football career. His career has seen him play for FK Austria Wien, Gerasdorf, St. Pölten, VfB Admira Wacker Mödling, SV Ried, Malatyaspor, Konyaspor, Rapid Wien and Kayserispor.
Akagündüz has also played 9 times for the Austrian national team, having decided to represent his naturalised country rather than that of his birth.
