Talk:Mudgeeraba, Queensland

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't understand why Zora reversed a change by someone at 212.85.15.83. I am a resident of Mudgeeraba in Queensland and the last best reference I read (a local newspaper) did indeed state that Mudgeeraba means 'place where lies are told', or possibly 'place where liars are'. It is certainly not vandalism to state this.

Given what Mudgeeraba means, the above statement could present a bit of a logic puzzle :). Still it is a more pleasant meaning than the current 'place of infant’s excrement'. Which I highly doubt is a possibility and most likely is vandalism.

I doubt anyone will read this, but I will wait a short period for comments before I change the meaning to the original.

It looks like you might both be right. If possible, provide a reference to your published source (newspaper/book/official website) for which meaning(s) you include. One option I found with Google is http://www.ucaqld.com.au/~piula/Placenames/page46.html - provides a number of possibilities, but http://www.oztourism.com.au/oztwqld.htm seems to slightly conflict with one of them. --Scott Davis Talk 12:16, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
