Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad (MICA) is a leading academic institution that has been set up to develop professional Communications management skills in India. Established in 1991, it is located on the outskirts of the western Indian city of Ahmedabad.

Post Graduate Programme In Communications Management (PGPCM)
The Post-Graduate Programme in Communications Management (PGPCM) is the flagship programme of MICA. It is a two-year residential programme that is recognised by the industry as a breakthrough in the study of integrated marketing communications management in India.
The PGPCM is designed to serve as a platform for developing a resource pool of communications management professionals who would take on the task of building brands and managing communications-driven businesses. Currently the programme offers specializations in the arenas of

Retail Communications Management
This one-and-half year programme combines the disciplines of business management and marketing communications with focus on retail communications management. It boasts of an International Retail Yatra among other things as a highlight.
Design Communications Management
This programme focuses on the management aspects of design. With the opening up of the economy and the presence of international
Crafting Creative Communications
The programme imparts copywriting and art direction skills to young graduates with a creative and imaginative bent of mind. Participants are taught to develop creative communication messages for the print and visual media on subjects of their choice.

Over 450 graduates from MICA’s two-year PGPCM are working in important positions in the corporate world. They have been placed in various communications-related and marketing organizations. The twelfth batch of the programme that passed out in 2007 set a new benchmark by achieving an average salary of Rs. 7.4 lakhs per annum.

The core faculty at MICA has been developed with members both from academic as well as professional industry backgrounds.
Additionally, MICA draws energy from its Visiting Faculty that comes from other institutions of international repute, and also practitioners from the advertising, marketing, marketing research, public relations and media industry. The strong skew in favour of such professionals ensures that the programme and the learnings are dynamic, current and attuned to the contemporary marketplace always.

The institute aims to conduct research in communication as applied to the needs of the communications industry. Through such research, the intent is to create and share new knowledge in this fast growing and increasingly important field.

Journal of Creative Communications is MICA’s in-house publication. It is designed to promote inquiry into contemporary communication issues within wider social, economic and technological contexts and provides a forum for the discussion of theoretical and practical insights emerging from such inquiry. The journal publishes articles in the areas of marketing communications, communication management, mass and new media, development communication, culture studies, and organizational communications.

Model Service Centers under the aegis of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) give the students direct exposure to a business environment and encourage them to take entrepreneurial initiatives. Participating students gain insights into aspects like factors taken into account while structuring a business deal, charging fees and maintaining profitability by continuous interaction with practicing professionals.

The Knowledge Education & Information Center (KEIC) has been established with the objective of harnessing the huge body of information available throughout the world on all aspects of people in their role as consumers, and on all forms of communication. The KEIC makes available this knowledge and information in a format that is need-oriented and easy to use.
The services of KEIC are intended to extend the much-needed info-support to the marketing communications industry specifically in areas of decision-making, strategizing, making new business connections and understanding markets.

MCSA
MCSA stands for MICA Council for Student Affairs. It is the student body that supervises various student-run committees in the institute and is responsible for taking up various issues of interest to students with the college administration.

MICANVAS
MICANVAS is MICA’s annual brand management festival. It provides an opportunity for students from other institutes all over the country to share their learning and talents.
MLS
Mica Lecture Series (MLS) brings in the best minds of the communications and marketing industry to get them to share their work, their success, their joys and the paradoxes they have faced in the world of communications management.
MICAMINDS
MICAMINDS is a student initiative to reinforce MICA’s supremacy in Integrated Marketing Communications by providing creative business solutions to corporate clients.
Mess Committee The mess Committee is an independent student body that oversees the regular functioning of the mess ensuring that quality and variety of the daily food is manitained.
Team Interface
Team Interface is the student managed PR cell of MICA. It brings to the public eye various activities at MICA through a variety of media.
CultComm
The Cultural Community of MICA organizes the celebrations of various festivals at MICA.
CompComm
The Computer Committee organizes various online events for MICAns across the year.
Placement Committee
The Placement Committee looks after the job of securing Summers and Final placements for students in prestigious organizations in the fields of marketing and marketing communications.
Black Coffee
The in-house magazine provides an outlet for the literary creativity of students. Managed by the Literary Society, the magazine is designed, edited and printed for circulation in-house.
SCAM
The Sports Committee At MICA (SCAM) organizes sports events on and off campus across a range of sports.
Trinetra
Trinetra is the movie club at MICA that screens all-time great movies in an attempt to study cinema as a powerful tool of communication.
