Mudokon

Mudokon are a race of beings that appear in the Oddworld quintology.

Mudokons are a race of humanoid beings that are one of the natives of Oddworld. Their faces resemble turtle like creatures, have three fingers on both hands (2 fingers and a thumb) and have a sort of chameleon skin that changes due to mood (eg. blue-green - mild anexiety). Most of the Mudokons are enslaved by the tyrannical, greedy Glukkons, and now are the Glukkon's primary labor service. They are treated like dirt when working, almost to the point of severe depression. Almost all Mudokons are considered male. The only female encountered in the games, Sam (the Queen), is a current slave to the Industrial races (eg. Glukkons), who has a large abdomen that pumps out eggs that create the Mudokons, and then forced to become more Glukkon slaves. The only few Mudokons, known as Natives, continue to live in peace and harmony with the land and their fellow natives. It is not known whether the natives have their own Queen or reproduce in some other way. Due to the actions of the "saviour" of the Mudokon, Abe, the number of Native Mudokon begin to grow. As a species, the Mudokons possess fantastic psychic potential. This can be demonstrated by ritual chanting (which can be used in some of the games), where they can heal, teleport and even transfer their own souls. They dress exclusively in loincloths.
