Mt Piper Power Station, New South Wales

Mt Piper Power Station is located near Portland, in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia. It is coal powered with two steam turbines with a combined generating capacity of 1,320 MW of electricity.
The first generator was completed in 1992, and the second in 1993.
Mt Piper draws its cooling water from the Lyell Dam and Thomsons Creek Dam (both purpose built for the station) on the Cox's River, 20 km away.
