[edit] Guess they don't teach law in AMMO school

First of all, anything I put on the talk pages of this website, I expect to stay there, even if I have to retract it later. It will not get deleted by me under any circumstances.

Second of all, had you actually read the article you referenced on libel, you would understand that in order to win such a case, you would have to prove that I had acted with negligence in my statement that the article was taken out of a recruiting pamphlet. Having spent four years in AFJROTC, I know what kind of language recruiters use, and the article IMHO had a pro-AMMO bias, which is typical of an effort to promote something. My statement was my opinion, and seeing as how I made only one such post, with no personal attacks, I not only did not violate any civil or criminal law, I didn't even violate Wikipedia policy, as my intentions were completely honorable IMO.

I also suggest that you take a look at WP:NLT and WP:AGF.

And I am a criminal justice major, so if you have any other questions about this I'd be glad to answer them.

Good day, Maverick 03:42, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Azmaverick623, I am only asking you to remove the statement in which you state that my original writing was "Definitely straight from the recruiter's pamphlets", and any other suggestion that I plagairized any other part of my writings, or to provide evidence that I did, indeed, copy my writings directly from some "recruiter's pamphlets." If you can cite a verifiable "recruiter pamphlet" that my statements were copied from, then I will rescind my stand that my words were truly my own.

I can assure you that the words written were my own.

Please remove the accusation, or cite the source that you state that I copied my writings from.

I'm not trying to start an argument or fight. But I honestly feel that what you have written unfairly tries to convince neutral readers that I have plaigarized my work, and I feel that that is an unfair, and untrue, personal attack.

Well, I apologize for wrongly thinking that you had copied from a recruiter's pamphlet, however you must understand that with the knowledge I had at the time of who wrote it (which was none), that is what I assumed. And no, I never actually served in the Air Force, 623 is the area code I live in, although I did do four years of AFJROTC. However two of my fellow classmates have since joined the Air Force, one of which is AMMO up at Eielson AFB, AK (A1C CJ Kelly), the other one is an air traffic controller at Luke AFB, AZ (A1C Aaron Graham). --Maverick 06:03, 10 February 2006 (UTC) PS- and next time, instead of making legal threats, all you have to do is what you just did: explain why you think I should retract my statement :)

I never made any legal threats against anyone. I simply stated my issue with your comments, several times I should add, what I believed to be my legal standing, and then my request for you to remove the offending statements.

BTW, I, too, was in AFJROTC. At CA-811. At the end of my Junior year, I had was a c/Capt (Earned), c/Lt. Col (Appointed) on Wing Staff, in charge of Logistics Division. So I, too, am familiar with the rhetoric recruiters pass forth on the same level you are.

But you are, nonetheless, responsible for your libelous statements against me, irrelavent of malice aforethought.

I have noticed that the statement that I have taken issue with has been struck out within the last few hours. I still wish the statement to be removed completely. I have adamantly asked that it be REMOVED, not struck out. I will be checking with my Tort Law instructor at school over the next few days to see if striking out is equivelant to removing. If he states it is, I will drop my complaint.

To preserve the personal privacy of both of us, I wish to conduct further contact personally, and not within the public realm of Wiki. I'd like to think we can work this out in private, without slapping our little pee-pees all over everyone else's lunch. Please contact me with your personal email address at misterpex at hot mail dot com if you agree, or email me your phone number to that address, and we can talk it out on the phone on my dime- I'll call you. That way, we can keep whatever happens between us, and there's no public embarassment to anyone.

If not, feel free to continue our conversation in the public domain on Wiki.

Please keep in mind that, after this issue is resolved, ALL transactions taking place on my talk page will be copied to your talk page as well. That is, unless, you wish to keep the rest of this discussion off-Wiki and limited to privte communication.

Sorry, but I will continue talking to you on here. I am also having a little trouble understanding you. You say that you have not made legal threats, and yet you continue to accuse me of making libelous statements, and are consulting with a legal professional about getting my comments removed. I repeat, NOTHING that I write on talk pages will get fully deleted. If you continue to act in this manner, you risk getting blocked for violating the No legal threats policy. I suggest you read that policy and note especially the first bulleted item.
However, I do not think it will come to that. I understand that you are upset that I thought your contribution was copied out of a recruiter's pamphlet. Since they are the work of the US Government, you would not have been in violation of copyright laws, what I was trying to imply was that the article text didn't look fit for an encyclopedia. I have seen things from your point of view, and understand them. Please return the favor. As you said, be a pal. -Maverick 02:29, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
