Murlidhar Rao (born 19th May 1975) is a well known Senior Business Solutions Consultant, Senior Business Analyst, Project Manager, Management Consultant and Writer currently working for Asia's largest IT and business consulting firm - Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). He was born in Tanuku, West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh, India.

He received his early education at St.Xaviers School in Jamnagar and Bhuj in India. He attended Gujarat University at Ahmedabad, India where he received his B.A (Hons) degree with a major in English and minor in Psychology/Statistical Methods. Early in life, he exhibited excellent leadership potential. While at St.Xaviers, he was the Class Prefect and House Captain and while in college, he was the General Secretary of the students union. In both school and college, he won several prizes in co curricular activities. During his college days, he was also a Cadet in the Army wing of National Cadet Corps (NCC) for 3 years. He attended the 2 year full-time M.B.A program at the S.K.School of Business Management at North Gujarat University with specialization in Marketing Management. He is also an alumnus of the distinguished Sir L.A Shah Law College, Gujarat University where he earned his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree. Subsequently, he also earned his Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (PGDIRPM) from Rajendra Prasad Institute of Management, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Bombay. In 2006, in recognition of his capabilities as a Management Consultant, the Institute of Management Consultants of India (IMCI) conferred upon him, the coveted Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation. A strong proponent of continuing education, he is currently pursuing the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, USA.

On completion of his M.B.A degree, he joined Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) in November 1999. He has contributed to several assignments in the Banking, Pharma Retail and Government practices. He continues to contribute as a Senior Business Analyst, Project Manager and Business Solutions Consultant in complex IT projects as well as a wide range of business consulting engagements. He has undertaken assignments in India, Indonesia, Canada and the United States in areas such as Business Transformation, Change Management, Performance Excellence, Program Management, Master Data Management (MDM) etc. He has also visited Singapore. He is a Certified Assessor from Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC), Pune on the Tata Business Excellence Model (TBEM) which is based on USA's Malcolm Baldrige Model. He is also a certified external assessor for the CII-EXIM Award instituted by the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Export Import Bank of India. The CII-EXIM Award is based on the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). He is certified on Dr. Ryuji Fukuda’s Management Methodologies for Transformation and Strategic Advantage.

Murli is unmarried and currently resides in Astoria, New York. He practices Hinduism. He speaks English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Telugu. During his spare time, he enjoys reading books, magazines and newspapers. He enjoys writing on business related issues. He is also fond of cooking, travelling and photography.
