Thanks for the nice note, and no, I am not offended. As for Leflyman's comments, one thing to keep in mind is that many of the Lost editors are struggling with burnout, as they spend the vast majority of their time reverting unencyclopedic information out of articles. So sometimes I try to forgive them that their first reaction to anything is always, "Don't do it." Then again, it should still be possible to handle a lot of reverts, while maintaining a civil demeanor. When someone isn't civil, sometimes all that's needed is a reminder that they need to snap out of it. ;) --Elonka 01:04, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

- Project News
- This is the first newsletter of the LGBT studies Wikiproject! Come and discuss your thoughts on it at the Wikiproject talk page.
- An LGBT Barnstar has been created for editors who have contributed significantly to LGBT-related articles.
- The LGBT Portal has been revamped and tidied. It's various sections could do with updating on a weekly basis. Please pitch in if you have the time.
- The main page of the Wikiproject has also undergone a bit of a rewrite. Your participation is welcome.
- James Robert Baker became the first known LGBT biography to become a Featured Article on November 22. It was written and nominated by Jeffpw. Well done Jeff!
- A discussion has been started on the WikiProject talk page about how to get the WikiProject going. Your thoughts would be welcome.
- Finally, five new users have joined the Wikiproject: Jeffpw, Ikasawak, Dev920, AliceJMarkham, and WereWolf. Please make them feel welcome!

Happy New Year to all our members!
- Project News
- Several new templates have been created: {{Bi}} and {{Transgender}} by Dev920 and AliceJMarkham respectively. SatyrTN also created a {{LGBT Welcome}} template to welcome new members. Thanks to them all.
- The LGBT Portal's various sections could do with updating on a weekly basis. Please pitch in if you can.
- Latter Days became a Featured Article on December 31. It was written and nominated by Dev920. Congratulations Dev!
- A new assessment system has been implemented - we have tagged and assessed over 1100 articles so far! Please tag any LGBT related articles you come across by adding {{LGBTProject | class=}} to the talkpage. Please see the Assessment Department for how to assess an article according to the grading system.
- A fledgling monthly LGBT Collaboration has been started, with Homosexuality as the December article and Gay stereotyping as our January article. Please contribute to this if you can, even if it's just correcting typos.
- A Translation department has been set up, to translate LGBT articles from foreign language Wikipedias that may have more information than our equivalent article. Please add your name if you are fluent in any language other than English.
- We have a brand new unique Project! Jumpaclass is a new semi-competition to improve our lower quality articles - see the subpage for more information. Please sign up and get it going!
- Finally, our membership numbers have exploded! 21 new users have joined the Wikiproject: AdelaMae, WJBscribe, Trodaikid1983, Jtowns, Agne27, Boyau, NickGorton, Dialecticas, DaliJim, Tonei, Cabbers, silent, Textorus, GLGerman, Haiduc, Hornandsoccer, Bopopop, NinaOdell, Badbilltucker, DanB DanD, and Tiger Marc. Please make them feel welcome!
