[edit] Please, I had enough and STOP MAKING SUCH FALSE CHARGES!

Dear Mr. Lefty, I've understand what you're trying to tell me and negotiate recently about me making such personal attacks on other people (particularly editors). As a matter a fact, I myself really did NOT make any real personal attacks on that editor named Bignole or on anyone else! You see, back in that recent discussion while I was having a meeting conversation with Bignole on the matter of whether the Trivia section of "Smallville (TV Series)" that I've created needs to be added in that article or not, all I just ever did was to demand a good reason from them on why that aforementioned Trivia was not put up and nothing else! I'm just giving out a stressing plea and that's all! After of all this said and done for that previous business, later I just couldn't believe it when I see the next caution from you cautioning me about the same thing! May I ask on why do you still put on a blame on me for giving out personal attacks after I've received from Bignole who warn me with this same warning! Why do you have to warn me again? Such troublesome manner! "Sigh!"

Speaking of my recent discussion with Bignole, why do you have to go over to my second reply of that discussion and take it so and too seriously? Why couldn't you get the whole clear picture of what I was trying to intend and convey to him? Why do you have or seem to be so inquisitive and sentitive on about how I was trying to assert throughout the whole of that discussion? Why do you have to be so concern about what I was trying to argue? Who ask you and by what authority do you hold when you affirmly mention that I had made such attacks followed by your cowed or blackmailed statement that goes ("...Such behavior will earn you a block....") from my user talk-page? What good do you get by simply pointing your finger out against me falsely for such a trivial incident? My goodness gracious! Please, stop troubling me!!! Besides, for your information, I AM NOT RUDE! So could you please stop making such a bad remark (about me) stating that I'm being rude? Branding other people or editors as "rude" is also considered as violating one of the courtesy codes of WP:NPA!!! In addition, if you continue to make such warnings' in a stern tone coupled with blackmail statements or remarks is considered as lashing out personal attacks and such behavioural tone will earn you a block as well! Don't you understand? Why can't you just make myself clear and go on with your own life without interfering me like a busybody? Shiiish!!!

Next, the caution that you have given to me about making personal attacks is more than enough already! This is because somebody else or the other editor has given me the same warning like you did just now as well! Don't you see it? So please, please stop issuing that warning out again and leave me alone! I really had enough of all this! I do not want anyone to issue that same old hackneyed warning to me again anymore once and for all! Spare me some time to learn from it would you? Because I have other stuffs to deal with or to do as well from the outside world or real life! Doing this to clarify you the correct reason only just waste my precious big time of my entire lifetime-lah! PLEASE, do stop it and halt making such untrue accusations!!! I could not believe this! "Aiyoyo!" "Sigh!" (Notification: This might be your last admonishment or warning from me) -onWheeZierPLot Wednesday, 5th July, 2006ad.

[edit] Tommy Maddox

Dear Mr. Lefty, as you know, I have edited the Tommy Maddox only to have you to revert it back to its previous form because you classify my edits as "vandalism". Let me assure you that what I put on his page was indeed not vandalism. While Tommy was a Pittsburgh Steeler, he and I were actually good friends. Whenever he wasn't practicing for a big game, or getting ready to warm the bench in his last two years in Pittsburgh, he was over my house or I would be over his. All of the facts that I put on the page today were indeed that; facts, not vandalism. Due to your unfair classification of my work as vandalism and your insults to me by reverting my work, I demand an apology. Ontop of that, I also demand that you lift the final warning where I could be frozen from editing wikipedia again. Thanks you.

[edit] Vandalism report

Hi. Regarding what you wrote on the admins' noticeboard, you'd look into it when 24.12.158.51 (talkcontribsWHOISRDNSRBLsblock userblock log) starts up again: He has. So if you would please check on this, here are the details:

  • He was registered as User:Atticus765, but blocked indefinitely in May 2006, for vandalism, block evasion, etc.
  • Has during his blocks used several sockpuppets, which have all been blocked.
  • Has continued vandalism, despite multiple warnings from me and other editors, under his IP. I have reported him at least half a dozen times, most of which were ignored, some of which led to short-term blocks. Shortly after each block expired, he continued to vandalise the exact same pages as before.

I am tired of reporting him every week, only to see an admin telling me he has stopped and then having him be back the next day to keep vandalising. I hope you can help with this and finally block this guy permanently. Thanks, HarryCane 11:42, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

I don't think a CheckUser inquiry was run, but the IP's edit history clearly shows the same pages vandalised, the same vandalism style and the timing matches the time when Atticus765 got blocked. And even if this isn't the same person, after three temporary blocks that all showed no effect (as he usually started vandalising again the day the ban was lifted) I think a permanent block would still be justified based on just the IP's vandalism alone (over 150 edits; all vandalism) and not counting Atticus765's edits. I just feel that every admin I've reported this to only saw the most recent edits he made, not the whole spectrum and history of edits by this guy I revert every week, and I fear that if I take this to another instance, this won't change. But if you consider the incident noticeboard the "weapon of choice", I'll try my luck there. Thanks for your help, HarryCane 20:30, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit to policy debate

If this edit was made in good faith, you are sorely mistaken. "Spread" and its derivatives are in common use, as evidenced by some of the articles linked for the policy debate article and its derivatives. I have debated for more than 5 years now and never heard the term "spewing". At first glance it appears almost certainly to be a term used by those who are critical of speed, if at all, making it a definitively non-neutral term. savidan(talk) (e@) 23:43, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

As I said on your talk page, where I come from "spreading" refers to the practice of making mass arguments so that the other side runs out of time to refute them, and "spewing" is a completely acceptable term. I suppose there can be regional differences, so I'll just add that "spewing" is an alternative term. --Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 23:48, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
You are correct that the oral history of policy debate seems to indicate that originally spreading referred to making multiple arguments that cannot be grouped (perhaps through non-speed reading techniques); however, this is inconsequential as the term has evolved to mean simply speaking faster to make more arguments. There is also the possible origin of: speed + read = spread.
I don't know if it is used in your region or not: it's impossible to verify that claim. The Cheshire article linked in that section currently uses the term "spread". If you want to list "spew" as an alternate term, I think that asking you to provide a source is reasonable. Otherwise, please remove it from the article yourself. The article has already been demoted from good article status because it contains too much original research. I haven't had time to go through and clean it yet, but let's at least not add anything else that can't be verified. savidan(talk) (e@) 23:52, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-07-30 Hillman posting personal information

Hi, User:Christopher Thomas brought this to my attention. Please note that after talk page discussions involving DrL and some others, I decided to selfnom for MfD the subpages listed at User:Hillman/Dig. I'd like to let that run its course before getting back to this matter. Please note that the context in which I have been maintaining these pages is explained (I hope!) at User:Hillman/Digging. Ironically, when DrL says "there are some people on WP that abuse the system, but Hillman alone should not be the one to decide who needs special attention" she didn't add that the very reasons the pages exist is that I am struggling to formulate and propose policies on both wikishilling and digging. This activity and of course the MfD both represent seeking guidance from the Wikipedia community. I have also tried to tell her that I will abide by the MfD and even if, as I hope, I am allowed to continue my research unmolested, I am willing to discuss with her some compromise between respect for her privacy and the needs of policy discussion. If she will simply take a break and calm down I believe this should be achievable, in fact I already have some ideas (but am not toying with them while the MfD is ongoing). When she said that I am adding "additional conjecture", you can see from my contribs that I added some additional links to edit histories, which is public information. I also slightly softened the language on the page she is complaining about, but am avoiding major changes while the MfD is in progress since it seems to me that all participants in the MfD should see substantially the same versions.---CH 01:12, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userpage Overhaul

Hello Mr. Lefty. I noticed the overhaul request notice on the top of your userpage, and I would like to make a suggestion to help you out. Use of the div tag will split your userpage into multiple sections use div style="float:left" to make a div that'll move to the left side of the page, and replace left for right for a section that'll float to the right. My userpage makes use of this technique, and I would invite you to not only look at its code, but also to edit and experiment with it. Don't worry, I can revert it back later! This technique should help remove a lot of that whitespace and make your page much neater. --Targetter 01:14, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Er, no. If you're going to remove a section (especially warnings) without archiving it or discussing it with an admin or on your talk page (Which you haven't) is going to net you ANOTHER warning. And probably complete lack of respect in the community. You can edit, but you need to edit with an intent to actually acomplish something, not just hide mistakes. (For example, you can remove a blocked user's messages (Because they're blocked) from your talk page. Warnings from nonblocked users however stick with you quite a long time!) [edit] notability

Wikipedia:Notability (music) Important note: Failing to satisfy the notability guidelines is not a criterion for speedy deletion. An article that fails to even claim that the subject of the article is notable can be speedy deleted under criterion A7, however. A mere claim of notability, even if contested, may avoid deletion under A7 and require a full Article for Deletion process to determine if the subject of the article is notable.

Many of us who spend a lot of time improving Wikipedia's musical coverage feel that notability is required for a musical topic (such as a band or musical theatre group) to deserve an article here. Please note that the failure to meet any of these criteria does not mean an article must be deleted; likewise, the meeting of any of these criteria does not mean that an article must be kept. These are merely rules of thumb which some editors choose to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to keep an article that is on articles for deletion.

Also, please keep in mind that the article in question must actually document that the criterion is true. It is not enough to make vague claims in the article or assert a band's importance on a talk page or AfD page -- the article itself must document notability.
