[edit] Plot
The episode begins with an earthquake that causes a lot of damage to the city. Christine Rutherford takes advantage of the earthquake, kills her husband, Henry Rutherford, and makes it seem like an accident. Sharona in the mean time checks up on Mr. Monk to find out that he has started to speak in gibberish because of the stress.
Sharona had previously been working with Mr. Rutherford on a charity, so when she finds out about his death, decides to check up on his wife. While there Monk notices scuff marks on the wall where the shelf was, and that pictures along the same wall seemed not to be affected by the earthquake. Monk conveys his doubts to Stottlemeyer, but Stottlemeyer is too busy with the earthquake and cannot help Monk with his case.
