[edit] Plot

Desperate to get $2,000 to harvest his dope-growing scheme and to support Lucy and Trinity, Ricky searches for quick ways in order to get some cash. While discussing possible options with Julian, he considers the idea of himself and Julian starring in one of J-Roc's amateur, low-budget porno films, since it offers easy money. Julian immediately declines to participate in it, because although he admires great actors, porno films are just not for him: ("Would you see De Niro doing a porn flick?"). Bubbles agrees to come along for the ride, and he and Ricky are getting ready to shoot the movie. Meanwhile, Lahey and Randy come to the conclusion that something illegal is brewing in Sunnyvale and head to J-Roc's trailer to investigate. According to J-Roc, he writes, produces and directs all the material; the current project being a "little epic" called From Russia With the Love Bone. He explains that nobody in town will see it: he sends it to e-bay and to foreign porn sites in Russia in exchange for profits, thus making it foolproof. Just before they begin principal photography in J-Roc's trailer, Ricky doesn't feel up to the challenge and offers to take a minor, non-sexual role, so Bubbles has to play the "frisky guy." Shortly after filming has ended, J-Roc's mother and Lahey arrive in the trailer, forcing everyone out. Lahey takes a copy of one of the tapes as evidence against them, which deeply worries Ricky.

Word of his participation in the film get out quick, and when Ricky arrives back at his trailer, he is stunned to see Lucy taking Trinity out of the park. She is disgusted at her boyfriend and the father of their love child for acting in a porn flick, even though Ricky protests that he did nothing sexual in it. Worrying that it could damage his reputation even further, he goes to Julian for help in stealing back the tape. That night, Julian sneaks into Lahey's trailer with his gun, but he is shocked to see Randy in tight leather garb and Lahey in a dress, acting out the porno. In exchange for promising not to tell anyone what he saw, Julian gets back the porno tape and takes some of their dope and a bottle of rum. He returns back to Ricky and Bubbles with the tape, while still disturbed by what he saw ("That's going to be a hard secret to keep."). Ricky, seeing that J-Roc still has the master tapes which he has sent to Russia, decides to rip up the tape to destroy any evidence Lahey could use against him. Back at Lucy's trailer, he and Lucy make peace with each other, and she even admits that she is impressed he would act in a porno flick for her. It seems that they are falling in love again.

[edit] From Russia With The Love Bone

The J-Roc project basically revolves around two sexy American girls vacationing in Russia and stealing a motorcycle along the way. Sergeant Boris (Ricky) and Corporal Alexei (Bubbles) arrive in their alpine lodge to interrogate them, but the girls end up keeping the bike by giving Alexei fellatio and blackmailing Boris into giving them head. As Alexei says in the finished product: "I haven't been frisky in a long time!"

[edit] Trivia

  • While refusing to participate in From Russia With The Love Bone, Julian mentions Robert De Niro, whom he earlier referred to as one of his idols in the original pilot The Trailer Park Boys.
  • The Russian police uniforms Ricky and Julian wear during the shoot are those that Robb Wells and John-Paul Tremblay wore in the short film The Cartboy.
  • In a deleted scene, after Lahey runs off with a copy of the porno tape, Ricky tells Lahey's estranged daughter, Trina, that he might have to kill her father. This scene was cut before the airdate, thus delaying Trina's debut until the second season. It was include on the "Trailer Park Boys Volume One: Seasons One & Two" DVD.
  • Lucy is initially shown as disgusted at the thought of acting in a porno flick, she appears in one herself later on in the episode Don't Cross the Shitline.
  • Randy and Lahey's relationship is revealed in the episode, but only to Julian. They don't open up about their homosexuality publicly until Season Three's Where in the Fuck is Randy's Barbeque?
