Mr. Kruger

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mr. Kruger (played by Daniel von Bargen) is a fictional character on the sitcom Seinfeld. Kruger is the president of Kruger Industrial Smoothing, a company for which George Costanza works during most of the ninth and final season.

Kruger is noted for his total apathy towards his job and the success of his company. George's description of the company is "Kruger Industrial Smoothing: 'We don't care, and it shows'" ("The Strike"). In hiring George, Kruger says that "I could go either way on you...but what the hell, we need someone." When George happily responds, "You won't regret this, sir!", Kruger simply shrugs and says, "I don't care" ("The Slicer"). George is often forced to push Kruger to do his work, to which Kruger usually responds, "I'm not too worried about it." George describes the situation as: "Kruger doesn't do anything; Disappears for hours at a time, gives me fake excuses. This afternoon I found him with sleep creases on his face. The only reason I got out to get a bite today was that he finally promised to buckle down and do some actual work" ("The Burning"). On another occasion, Kruger calmly notes with regards to the company's financial reports, "Boy, did we take it on the chin last year!" ("The Strike").

George begins working for Kruger in "The Slicer," during which it is revealed that Kruger was involved with a heated dispute with George in 1989 to wit Kruger called George a "pear shaped loser". Kruger is invited to Festivus dinner in "The Strike," insists on calling George "Koko the Monkey" in "The Maid", and on working exclusively with George in "The Burning."
