Mr. Greeler

Mr. Greeler

Mr. Greeler was a little-known Bostonian composer (in fact, his first name is not even remembered) who made the United States Constitution into an orchestral arrangement. Although no copies of his work have withstood history (indeed, his first name is not even recalled), his feat was described in the November 28, 1874 edition of the "Music World" of London. His performance was said to last six hours, and his finale, a fugue of the Bill of Rights, was described as "very scholarly."
