Mr. Collipark

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mr. Collipark is the stage name of Michael Crooms, a DJ and producer from Atlanta, Georgia. He is also known as DJ Smurf and Beat-n-Azz. Crooms was born in Orlando, Florida, but his family moved to Atlanta when he was five. The name Collipark is derived from the city College Park, Georgia.

He is the president of his own record label, Collipark Records. He is best known for his work with MC Shy D and for the Ying Yang Twins. Smurf started out as a Miami based producer and together with Lil Jon helped to shape the new crunk sound. He has recently contributed to the founding of another subgenre, snap. Collipark parted ways with the Ying Yangs after a six year relationship. He told allhiphop it was because they wanted to do something differently from what he is about. He said he is a creator type of guy and they just were not understanding his talents. Some of his most notable tracks include Bubba Sparxxx's "Ms. New Booty" and Ying Yang Twins' "Wait".
