Geekin' Out Across the Galaxy (2006) |
Mr. A-Z is an album by Jason Mraz, released on July 26, 2005. It is the studio follow-up to his critically acclaimed first studio album Waiting for My Rocket to Come, released in 2002. While panned by many critics, it was a moderate commercial success and debuted at #5 on Billboard's Top 200 albums chart.
Mr. A-Z was produced by Steve Lillywhite, who previously worked with Coldplay, the Dave Matthews Band, and the Rolling Stones. The first single, "Wordplay", features Mraz's unique style: a blend of hip-hop, jazz, pop, and rock.
Tracks on Mraz's sophomore CD include common instruments, such as the guitar, and not-so-common instruments, such as the grand piano and strings. An opera solo performed by Mraz himself can be found on the track "Mr. Curiosity".

[edit] Trivia
In the original printing of the album, track five is misspelled as "Mr. Curiousity". This is ironic because in the song Mraz makes a note about typos and mentions spellcheck. The correct spelling is "Mr. Curiosity".
