[edit] Andre Cailloux
Thank you for your contribution of this article. I found it when I was editing the 1st Louisiana Native Guard article, which links to Captain Cailloux. I monitor Civil War articles as a part of the Civil War Task Force on Wikipedia, which is a group of editors that seek to continuously improve various articles. Use User:Hlj/CWediting as a guideline for future Civil War articles, and welcome aboard!!!! Scott Mingus 22:14, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hello from Tennessee
(In case you're not watching my talk page, which I also posted this reply.)
Hi Mpleahy, thanks for the note. It's nice to hear from someone with overlapping interests. I am actually approaching this from the Mexican point of view, and it's a little outside my usual time span. Most of my work has been on the colonial period in Mexico, but I'm hoping to exand that into 19th century independent Mexico. Rbraunwa 00:22, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—and wherever—you'd like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines outline some things to include.
- Interested in working on a more complete article? The military history peer review and collaboration departments would welcome your help!
- Working on featured-level articles? We have some advice for nominators, and an A-Class review process to help check high-quality articles.
- Want to help with specific requests for assistance? Our requests page has extensive lists of requested articles, images, maps, and translations.
- Interested in a particular area of military history? We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, or periods.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 22:28, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Southernexpress.jpg
I notice the copyright status of the image has been confirmed, but I think I still owe you an explanation as to why I tagged it as {{PUIdisputed}} when you re-uploaded it. The reason was that the artist's website did not appear to corroborate the {{GFDL}} template on the image page, hence I thought the image might not be GFDL-licensed as you claimed. In future, you can remove the possibility of this misunderstanding by linking to the copyright statement of the website you took the image from on the image's description page, with a statement similar to:
- According to http://www.example.com/copyright.html, this image is licensed under GFDL (replace "GFDL" with the correct license).
(This is in addition to the placement of {{GFDL}} or another correct license template.)

[edit] Atheangelism
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Atheangelism, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. - If "atheistic evangelism" or "evangelical atheism" are much more conventional terms, shouldn't the article be renamed? I will later evaluate whether this theme is notable enough to warrant an article on Wikipedia, but for the time being, I'll let it stay. Julius Sahara 17:37, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Atheistic Evangelism
Hi there, I have been looking over the article now and again and at stuff on the internet and today heard an interview with Richard Dawkins on NPR and I'm wondering how you would feel about a proposal to merge this article with the Atheism article? I do agree that it is a My feeling is that even with the name change it is still about a minor subset of the topic, Atheism rather than something unique enough for an article. Thanks in advance for your input!--killing sparrows 04:02, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
