Moyra Fraser (born 3 December 1923) is an Australian-born British actress who is best known for playing Penny in the long-running sitcom As Time Goes By.

[edit] Early life
Moyra Fraser was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia [1] on 3 December 1923 and with her family emigrated to the United Kingdom in June 1924. She left school early to take up a scholarship with the Sadlers Wells Ballet. [1] Fraser joied the Sadlers Wells Ballet after training, and stayed with them until she left to play the principal role in Song of Norway at the Palace Theatre, London. [1] Following that Fraser starred in many plays and pantomimes. [1]
Fraser's first film role was in the 1948 musical The Dancing Years, and two years later she starred in the David Lean film Madeleine. Fraser's television career started in the 1960s, and she appeared in Benny Hill, ITV Playhouse and a 1973 Comedy Playhouse episode. In 1971, she starred in The Boy Friend.
Between 1975 and 1977 she appeared in four episodes of the BBC Television series The Good Life as Felicity the wife of Jerry's boss, Andrew. In 1975, Fraser appeared in two first series episodes of The Good Life as Felicity, the wife of Jerry's boss Andrew.

From 1985 to 1986, Fraser played Annie Jolly in From the Top. In 1993, she first played Penny, the sister of Jean's first husband, in the successful BBC sitcom As Time Goes By. She continued with the part until the programme final episode in 2005. During the show's run, Fraser had also appeared in other programmes including Rumpole of the Bailey and Jeeves and Wooster.
