Moycullen (Irish: Maigh Cuilinn) is a suburban village in County Galway, Ireland.
Moycullen is a small town about 10km (7mi) north west of Galway city. It is located near Lough Corrib, on the N59 road to Oughterard and Clifden in Connemara. Although nominally part of the Gaeltacht (Gaelic speaking region), little Gaelic is spoken among the inhabitants of Moycullen. Its Irish name, Maigh Cuilinn, means Plain of Holly, or Plain of Cullen (a local giant).
Moycullen is now a relatively prosperous and young satellite town of Galway with most residents commuting to the city for work, school, and commercial reasons.
It is home to one of the most successful basketball clubs in Ireland and also has a thriving GAA club.
The town is mentioned in James Joyce's A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.
