[edit] License tagging for Image:Desani.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Desani.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Welcome, newcomer

Welcome, Mowglee! I seem to have located you as a new editor, somewhere lost and alone in the vastness that is Wikipedia. Never fear, you have found yourself a guide! If you are lost or confused, you might want to take a look at this FAQ.

If you find yourself with a great deal of time, you can start out at the Introduction and work your way through the many pages listed in that page.

I cannot stress enough the necessity of reading - it is absolutely fundamental to your understanding of Wikipedia. I know it's complex and overwhelming, which is exactly why I want to help you. Please feel free to ask questions liberally; the Newbies' help page and my talk page are perfect places to post your queries. Just edit the page using the tabs at the top, and ask away!

In addition, here are some useful links:

[edit] About the Wikipedia Logo

  • Jimbo, as busy as he understandably would be, is probably the worst person to ask about this. Try asking a moderator who, if he couldn't do it himself would probably have an easier time getting the attention of the superiors who can. I have a feeling that only those REALLY high in rank can touch this through a lot of trouble- having an "edit" tab would be extremely foolish, as it would probably be vandalized like every day even if it was locked. I do however see the importance of its being corrected. You can check out [[1]], and [[2]] for starters--Dagibit 02:44, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

My pleasure.

Rimi talk 11:24, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

PS, noticed you've been editing Tata Steel. There are separate articles for other tata cos such as TCS; do you think it would be helpful to create a category of tata cos so they could all be listed together? Rimi talk 11:42, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

:-)) somebody's already thought of it and the category is also mired in confusion: Category_talk:Tata. if you leave your opinion on the talk page then i can rename it, if necessary, and add other companies like tata steel and telco to the category.
PS: if i were to read a novel of yours, which one would you recommend? i'm excited by the prospect of being recommended a book by none other than the author herself.--mowglee 12:02, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] INCOTW

You voted for Tata Steel, this week's Indian Collaboration of the Week. Please come and help it become a featured-standard article. - Aksi_great (talk) 19:36, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tata Steel

Hi. Thanks for showing interest in the article and sorry for the delay in replying. The main problem with the article right now is that it has no references. Also there is no "see also" section, no "further reading" section, and no "external links" section. I see that some of them have been lost in some heavy editing some time back. See this version. You could add sections by looking at well-developed articles of other companies. For example, Microsoft has this good section called "corporate affairs" for details on stock, logos, etc. You can keep the number of main sections limited as in Wal-Mart. That should be enough for a starting point. Do tell me if you want more help regarding the layout of the article. Regards, - Aksi_great (talk) 11:43, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
