Mount Ritter is located in the Sierra Nevada of the state of California, in the southwestern United States. It is made of a strikingly dark rock, and is quite prominent, because it is the highest peak within 30 miles (48 km). It is in the middle of the Ritter Range, which include Banner Peak and the Minarets.
