Mount Perry, Queensland

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mount Perry is a town in Perry Shire in southeastern Queensland, Australia. Mount Perry is about 450 km northwest of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, and about 105 km west of Bundaberg.

It is a historically significant town of approximately 200 residents nestled in a valley near Mount Perry, the area's highest mountain. There is one shop, one petrol station, one post office (with bank agency), one primary school, one horse standing at stud, two motels and one golf course—with sand greens (it's too dry to maintain grass greens).

Gold mining is again, recently, an important industry in the area while the popular Mount Perry Races remains a fixture on the calendars of many people in the region.
