[edit] Uniting School, Home, and Church

Since Mount Paran Christian School first opened its door in 1976, the primary focus has been to provide a solid foundation of academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment. Mount Paran’s mission goes hand in hand with this concept. The process of uniting home, school, and church by providing this Christ-centered foundation prepares young people spiritually, socially, intellectually, emotionally, and physically to glorify God. The result is a community with a true passion for serving and learning.

The passion stems directly from the exceptional faculty at Mount Paran. Faculty members are selected for their exemplary character, their professional expertise, and their willingness to “go the extra mile” to serve children and families. Our teachers care about each child and are eager to see them succeed. They consistently take the time to encourage each student’s emotional well-being by nurturing self-esteem, aiding in setting personal goals, and helping develop natural talents.

By incorporating a college preparatory curriculum, the academic rigor of Mount Paran is intended to develop enthusiastic and confident life-long learners who strive to achieve their personal best in everything they do. Mount Paran students display a genuine thirst for knowledge that cultivates success at the college level.

In a private, independent school setting, many students blossom because they have the opportunity to become involved in so many facets fo their school life, allowing them to test their abilities and discover their true potential. This is certainly true at Mount Paran, whether it is in the classroom, on stage, in weekly chapel, or on the athletic field.

We also encourage our parents to be active in their child’s learning experience. Communication between the home and school is established through regular correspondence from teachers. Parents are welcome to call teachers or set up conferences. The success of each student is enhanced when teachers, parents, and students work together to achieve a common goal — the development of an individual for the purpose of bringing glory to God and to serving the community.

At Mount Paran, we partner with our school families to instill a sense of community that spans generations. For example, our annual Grandparents’ Day is designed to celebrate the special role of grandparents in the lives of our young people. We recognize that the extended family plays an integral part in the student’s daily life and applaud their support at school events, such as chapel, field trips, games, and musical and drama productions.
