Mount Didicas

Mount Didicas, or Didicas Volcano, is an active underwater volcano in the Babuyan Islands in the Philippines (19° 04.6'N, 122°12.1'E).

Didicas is classified as a dome volcano with an elevation of 228 memters and a base diameter of 1,200 meters.

Didicas has erupted in 1773, 1856-1857, 1900, 1952, 1969, 1978 (January 6-9) and 1990.

It is one of the 22 active volcanoes in the Philippines. The others are Babuyan Claro, Banahaw, Biliran, Bud Dajo, Mount Bulusan, Cagua, Camiguin de Babuyanes, Hibok-Hibok, Iraya, Mount Iriga, Mount Kanlaon, Leonard Kniaseff, Makaturing, Matutum, Mayon, Musuan, Mount Parker (Cotabato), Pinatubo, Ragang, Smith, Taal. They are all part of the so-called "Pacific ring of fire."
