Mount Carmel High School (Akola)

Mount Carmel High School at Akola is a Secondary and Higher Secondary School in and around Vidarbha region of Maharashtra in India. The school is affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Government of Maharashtra, India. It is administered and maintained by the Roman Catholic diocese of Amravati. It is primarily a Catholic school, but is open to people of all faiths.

Mount Carmel School was established in 1977 by Rev. Fr. Nobert Braganza and under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Joseph Rosario (co-founder), the former bishop of Amravati. The school's first class consisted of 30 students.
Mount Carmel has grown considerably since its opening, now educating around 4,000. It has around 110 staff, 70 of which are teaching staff. The school has a full library with approximately 10,000 books. Mount Carmel students have access to science laboratories and updated computer labs. The school also provides its students with opportunities for participation in sports and the arts. Scholarships are available on the basis of academic record.
Mount Carmel has also started the Higher Secondary section (Junior College - Stds. XI and XII) as a supplement to the Secondary School.
