Moundou is the second largest city in Chad, the capital of the region of Logone Occidental. It has a population of 99,530 (as of 1993).
The city lies on the Logone River some 300 miles south of the capital N'Djamena. It is the main city of the N'Gambaye people. Moundou has grown as an industrial centre, home to a brewery and the cotton and oil industries. It also has an airport (IATA: MQQ, ICAO: FTTD), with a paved runway.
