  • comment The origin of the image is clearly NASA, and the fact that the others have affixed their copyright notices does not in this case indicate that they actually do hold a copyright in this picture. It probably is PD.DGG 19:45, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

NASA created the data that was incorporated into the image, but did not create the image itself: Google Earth did. Google releases the photos with a non-commercial license (see http://earth.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=21422 ) ... the question is whether this is a fair use exception to our prohibition. I think not, because there is a picture of Lyell Glacier already on the page at Mount Lyell. I believe this image should be deleted, or someone should ask Google for redistribution rights. hike395 02:14, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
