Motu One (Society Islands)

Motu One is a group of islets in the Leeward group of the Society Islands. ("Motu One", meaning "Sand Island", is also a generic term for a low-lying, sandy islet that cannot sustain permanent habitation.)
Motu One is also known as Bellinghausen or Bellingshausen, being thus named by the explorer Otto von Kotzebue in honour of Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen. It should not be confused with Bellingshausen Island in the southwest Atlantic.
