The new HC700 is part of Motorola's new familiy of mobile ruggedized handheld smartphone/computer enabled devices with Touch Screen capabilities. The HC700s are mil spec ruggedized for the industrial, commercial, and interior/exterior environments.

The HC700s will work on commercial carrier systems. They are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® wireless technology enabled. The current HC700 works with Cingular. Future versions such as the HC700i will work on Nextel iDEN networks with Push-To-Talk (PTT) capabilities. The HC700 family have GPS capabilities to enable efficient tracking of your workforce for safety and deployment.

The first to arrive is the HC700-L. The HC700L enables capture and delivery of data with Touch Screen. The HC700 products are designed to run on Windows Mobile. There are software development kits; including Motorola MotoPro Mobility Suite; to enable the user to design very defined work ticket applications with ease; including bar code scanning and RFID. The worker can use the HC700 to read emails from the field, obtain work tickets, and make phone calls to dispatch or the home.
