MotorWeek

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MotorWeek is a Maryland Public Television television show focusing on automobiles. The show puts new cars in a series of road tests that evaluates various aspects of its design. It has been produced since 1980 and is shown across the United States. The program has an annual Car of the Year award called Driver's Choice along with a Car of the Month.

MotorWeek is shown on PBS and the SPEED Channel.

Many car enthusiasts dislike the show due to the presenter's bias towards large, comfortable, American cars, and a higher emphasis put on durability and ease-of-use than handling, performance, or build quality. In addition, cheap cars are almost universally preferred over expensive ones, exemplified by such comparisons as the 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra versus the 2004 BMW M3, in which the Ford won because of more trunk space and a lower MSRP.
