Mother Ascensión Nicol Goñi

Mother Ascensión Nicol Goñi, also known as Florentina Nicol Goñi and Mother Ascension del Corazon de Jesus (14 March 1868–24 February 1940), was a nun of the Roman Catholic Church whom co-founded and became mother superior of the Congregation of Dominican Missionaries of the Rosary. She was raised to the title of Blessed upon beatification by Pope Benedict XVI on May 14, 2005 alongside Mother Marianne Cope of the Hawaii Catholic Church. Beatification is the first stage of the process which can lead on to canonization into sainthood.
