Mother's Day is the 44th episode of the TV series Kim Possible. It marks the first appearance Dr Drakken's mother, the first use of Drakken's full name, and the first appearance by Wade's mother.
[edit] Plot Synopsis
Kim's pledge to spend Mother's Day with her mother gets off to an inauspicious start when both mother and daughter are called away on assignments. Kim rushes off to prevent a canister of experimental "Self Replicating Synthoplasm" from falling into Drakken's clutches, while her mother has to attend an urgent surgical call.
Although the mission goes well, Kim's attempt to make the most of the morning by helping her mother in surgery is less of a success. Fortunately though, she spent more time throwing up than fainting. Meanwhile, Mrs. Stoppable's idea of a Mother's Day gift turns out to be getting her son to clean the garage, a chore that brings Ron face to face with a long forgotten lawn gnome that terrified him as a child.
Things go from bad to weird for Dr. Drakken when his overbearing mother shows up; looking to spend spend Mother's Day with him, unaware that he is a super-villain trying to take over the world (she thinks Drakken is a self-help radio doctor, like the real life Dr. Drew Pinsky). Events also take a similar turn for Kim when her mother decides that she will accompany Kim on her next mission as a way to spend time with her. This leads to a rather confused showdown on a speeding train, with Mrs Possible thinking that Drakken is trying to sweet talk her (due to Drakken's confusion with sidekicks), and all-round embarrassment as Mrs. Possible and Mrs. Lipsky reveal their children's childhood nicknames in front of their arch foes.
With the Mrs. and Miss Possible tied up and out of the way, Drakken finally gets his hands on the synthoplasma container, which his mother mistakes for a coffee thermos and promptly opens, releasing an animated puddle of green slime which proceeds to make a meal out of the train, growing larger and larger as it consumes more material.
Shego, the Lipskys and the Possibles beat a hasty retreat to the train roof, hotly pursued by the synthoplasma. The blob grabs Kim, and is about to make a meal out of her, and all seems lost. Fortunately for all concerned, Mrs. Possible realizes that the blobs reaction to the electrical current in the Kimunicator is very familiar, and she sets it to output theta waves, thus calming the blob down sufficiently for it to spit Kim out.
Later that day, the scientists arrive to collect the blob, and are confused when it is nowhere to be found. That is until Ron opens up his garage, revealing the creature, which he has employed to eat all of the junk that his mother wanted him to throw out. All of the junk, that is, except for the lawn gnome.
[edit] Quotes
- Mama Lipsky: (seeing Drakken's lair) Is this all for your radio show?
Drakken: Yes...for my...radio show. (to Shego) Mother doesn't know I'm a supervillain. She thinks I'm a radio talk show doctor. (presses button and his henchman listen) OK caller, you should get in touch with your feminine side, yes. (as henchman look confused)
- Mrs. Possible: "You were a big help in there Kimmie, and you didn't faint once."
Kim: "Oh, well, I was too busy throwing up"
- Kim: (seeing her mother dressed in the same style of mission outfit as Kim) Mom, this is a mission. I need Ron.
Mrs. Possible: Well now you don't have Ron. You have Mom.
- Dr. Drakken: "So, Kim Possible and her, eh... Sister?"
Mrs. Possible: "Is he hitting on me?"
Kim: "Nah, sidekicks really confuse him."

Shego: EEEYUCK!!!
- In the woods as the train with the synthoplasma draws near.
Mama Lipsky: (points to the sonic disruptor) What is that for?
Drakken: It's for man-in-the-street interviews.
Shego: And where is the street?
Drakken: Zip a lip, Shego.
- Drakken: (about Kim) It's a complicated relationship.
