[edit] Greatest mystical thinker of all time
Is this encyclopaedic? Is there really "no doubt" about it? I.e. couldn't Isaac Luria, arguably, be the "greatest of all time"? Gershonw 19:10, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
I quite agree. In fact there's a host of contenders for that role - Luria, Abulafia, the Gaon, the Maggid, the Baal Shem Tov, Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav - the list goes on and almost none of them would have necesarily claimed to be the greatest or thought that being the greatest was the point. The article could say 'some regard him as the greatest of all time' but to say that there is 'no doubt' is foolhardy. Here are two people who are suggesting that there is doubt! - Here's a third. Why not just say "one of the greatest Jewish mystical thinkers". —Dfass 01:42, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
