Moshe Baram

Moshe Baram (19111986) was an Israeli politician who came to Israel at the age of 20. In his youth he joined “HeHalutz” Movement and “Freiheit-Dror” which was affiliated with the “Poelei Tsion” Party. In 1934 began working in the Jewish Agency Member of the Secretariat of the Jerusalem Branch of Mapai from 1938 Secretary of the Jerusalem Branch of Mapai from 1943. Delegate to the Fourth Assembly of Representatives. In 1948 was elected Secretary of the Jerusalem Workers Council. Member of the Jerusalem City Council 19551959.

Elected as member of Knesset five consecutive times. Baram was Minister of Labour and Welfare in the 1970s.

Father of former minister Uzi Baram.
