[edit] Local Artists
- Mosfellsbær is home to Sigur Rós' music studio Sundlauginn, which prior to their arrival was an abandoned building including a swimming pool. Word has it that that the acoustics created by the building having a swimming pool center botttom was one of the reasons that they decided on investing in the property for future use. Sundlauginn has been used for recording and mastering by many Icelandic musicians and others including Amina (which often tours with Sigur Rós) and Jimmy Lavelle from The Album Leaf. Sigur Rós is in the process of recording a new album, which may be released as early as 2007.
