You have reached the userpage of Moreschi (talk • contribs) - and his left sock - wannabe musicologist and very amateur musician. I suppose the only other thing you might want to know up front is the list of my pet admins, but that's confidential.

[edit] What I do, have done, and future projects

I am not perfect. All of my edits are open to negotiation. If you come across an edit of mine that you feel is misleading, insufficiently referenced, inappropriate, off-topic, dumb, silly, or just plain wrong, then please feel free to revert me. Once you have done this, I would appreciate it if you leave an note on my talk page informing me of where I went wrong and how I can avoid the same mistake in the future.

My primary Wikipedia interest is classical music. I've done a lot of work with the Opera Project, and so far my major/favourite edits include:

Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream (nearly all my work, so I feel slightly possessive of this article! I made so many newbie mistakes on this that I recently had to go back and fix them. WP:BITE is important).
Contributions to Alessandro Moreschi's biography.
Handel's Orlando and
Agrippina, now another GA.
GA-resulting collaboration with Kleinzach and Kyoko for Orfeo ed Euridice.
Hans Werner Henze's biography.
Mozart's Il re pastore.
Purcell's The Fairy-Queen (which was worked up to good article standard with the help of Makemi).
Donizetti's Alina, regina di Golconda.
Contributions to Opera: the "Modernism" section of the "Contemporary, recent, and Modernist trends", the English Opera section, and the bit on Gluck and his reforms.
A couple of stubs: The Indian Queen and Erwartung (please feel free to expand!).
Taking a break from classical music; Pro Milone (GA). This last in collaboration with Davers (who did pretty much all of the actual work).
Big expansion: Alfred Deller.
In collaboration with Folantin, GuillaumeTell, Adam Cuerden (and others) the crooked was made straight at the List of major opera composers, and the rough places plain. Ditto for List of important operas.
Stubs/short articles for: Margherita Durastanti, Diamante Maria Scarabelli, Valeriano Pellegrini, Francesca Vanini-Boschi, Giuseppe Maria Boschi, and Antonio Carli. Most of this particular lot are not terribly exciting apart from the pretty pictures, and I recommend them only to masochists or opera maniacs.
Also Gaetano Guadagni was expanded.
Stub for Aci, Galatea e Polifemo
And a short article for La Resurrezione.
Stubs for a couple of Rameaus: Les fêtes de l'Hymen et de l'Amour and Les surprises de l'Amour. God bless Grove.
William Savage, Joseph Legros, Giuseppe Millico and Anna Maria Strada made WP:DYK!
And stubs for Teatro San Giovanni Grisostomo and Il pastor fido - expanded. Short article for Valentino Urbani.

Also doing copy-edit work for Meladina and his incredible series of Russian opera articles. I will be happy to copy-edit for those who wish to contribute but do not have English as their first language. I also have accounts on Commons and Meta under the same username.

My primary source for referencing such material is Grove Music Online.

I have received a heavily Classics-based education, and a good one at that. One of the advantages of this is that I can get my head around subordinate clauses with ease. The disadvantage of this is that I tend to insert lots of the darn things into my English prose, which I can understand but no one else can. As a result, my sentences tend to be rather lengthy and somewhat convoluted. For the purposes of Wikipedia, which quite rightly favours professional prose, this is a bad thing. If you do come across some work of mine that is written in this manner, please also feel free to fix it and simplify the prose.
