Moralis, known to the rest of the world as Chanslor "Chance" Rosenthal, resides in a mostly dilapidated two-story house in Bellevue, Washington. Other residents of the household include two dogs, a cat, several automobiles and finally, to Moralis' great frustration, Moralis' parents. He spends a great deal of his spare time with an unusually short (or rather, "undertall") female who he met at work and who is unfortunate enough to have won his affection. Here follows a mostly pointless summary of Moralis' life thus far.
Incidentally, he is not averse to being referred to as "Mora" online, thanks to the denizens of a certain ancient talker/RPG.
[edit] History of the Mora
[edit] Birth through Elementary School
The Right Rev. Chanslor Rosenthal was born March 02, 1989, in Long Beach, NY, the son of a stage manager-turned-tech guru and a producer-turned-executive assistant. Incidentally, Rosenthal learned at an early age that a degree in theater is perfectly useless when trying to find a job in a field wherein one can expect to earn a decent salary.
The Rosenthal family relocated every six months or so up until the time when Mora was six years old (which, he supposes, isn't too terribly long ago in the scheme of things.)) The family began renting a two-story house in Lido Beach, NY, where a young Mora learned most of what he now knows about pest control. It was about this time that Mora was enrolled in a small, private K-6 elementary school, Progressive School of Long Island. The six years which followed may have been involved in his present love for the public school system (and, potentially, his adoration of America's highways, as the school's location necessitated a half-hour commute on a little yellow bus each morning).
Most of Mora's elementary school years were spent between a quiet analysis of all things technological and constant trips to the local delicatessen for candy bars. By the time he was ten years old, Mora was able to troubleshoot with little difficulty most problems on a Windows- or Macintosh-based computer, as well as being able to recite the price of any candy bar available on the island of Long Beach.
[edit] Leaves New York
At the conclusion of Mora's fifth grade year, his parents made the decision to move to Bellevue, Washington, to keep the family closer to Mora's aging and ailing grandparents in Lake County, California. Mora was enrolled in Odle Middle School and spent the next three years of his life learning how to make a scandal of himself publically. He developed a keen interest in aviation as well as furthering his studies of all things motherboard, and by the end of his eighth grade year was proficient in three programming languages and MUSHed on a regular basis. Despite all this, he somehow managed to hide the majority of his nerdocity from his classmates, so that he was only considered slightly strange rather than one of the complete social outcasts that certain of his friends had become.
[edit] More Current Stuff
Mora enrolled at Sammamish High School for his freshman year, and managed to see himself elected as class president. His year in this position was mostly uneventful and was plagued by people who didn't really want to accomplish the same things. Losing his reelection bid in an election that he will probably insist was a sham until the day he dies, Mora turned his attention to actual politics and began seriously reviewing the steps that would be necessary to enter into a career in the field. In the meantime, the now-slightly-older Rosenthal more or less ceased completing what homework might require any meaningful portion of his time and began failing several classes. This was a pattern repeated throughout his Sophomore and Junior years, so that despite placing in the 94th percentile or higher (nationwide) on all his standardized tests, Mora currently finds himself preparing to drop out of high school partway through his senior year, taking his GED and moving to a community college. The moral of this story: the mistakes you make when you're fourteen years old will come back to bite you when you're a legal adult in the working world, so do your damn homework.
[edit] Work, Hobbies, Etc.
As mentioned above, Moralis keeps two dogs (a Wheaton/Kuvasz mix and a German Shepherd/Irish Terrier mix) and a cat, which he had to quite seriously trick both of his parents into allowing him to acquire.
Mora works at a local party and costume supply store. He is the proud owner of a Honda Civic as well as a very old, very fragile Nissan pickup. Mora computes on a self-constructed Windows desktop with an AMD64 processor and an Nvidia graphics card, and a 2004 Apple Powerbook G4. Generally speaking he prefers Mac OS (or any *nix system) to Windows, but he also plays far too many PC games, and is therefore forced to tolerate copious bluescreening.
Mora is an ordained reverend, thanks to the grace of the Universal Life Church, and an active member of Sea Scouts, BSA. One of these facts defines Moralis' personality. The other is a source of great amusement for him and his friends. The reader may decide which is which.
[edit] Wikipedia
Though his contributions thus far have not been extensive, and have been clumsy at best, Mora is far from new to Wikipedia, and has done at least as much as an unregistered user as he has under the proud Moralis pseudonym. He spends most of his time cleaning up spelling and grammar errors, breaking articles to sections for other editors, and reverting lesser-noticed instances of vandalism. It is his long-term goal to request adminship, at least to aid him in his quest against vandalism, if for no other reason (and there are many other reasons).
