Mortuary I.O.D. is a thrash/death metalband from Berlikum, The Netherlands. Formed in 1995 as Mortuary, with a new line-up and refreshed ideas in 1999 the members rename the band Mortuary I.O.D., the abbreviaton standing for Image Of Death, an early songtitle of the band. Mortuary I.O.D. performs a lot and releases two CDs in their existence before disbanding in 2005: In 2002 the debut album 'Distorted Massacre: Fear The Madness' is released and received well in the worldwide underground metal press. Even better reviewed is the 2004 release 'Damnation', which brings the band more shows and establishment in the metal scene. Show highlights in the six years of Mortuary I.O.D.'s existence are supporting Cannibal Corpse, performing on the Dutch leg of Belphegor's 'Lucifer Incestus Terror' tour and performing as opening act for Wâldrock in 2004. There are plans to revive the band in the future, but nothing is certain.

Mortuary I.O.D. was: Johannes Keekstra - vocals, Arnout Visser - guitar, Franke Kooistra - guitar, Germ Reitsma - bass and Douwe Talma - drums.
