Morris Meister

Dr. Morris Meister was the founder and first principal of the Bronx High School of Science as well as the first president of Bronx Community College. He is regarded for his support and application of laboratory based methods in science education as well as interdisciplinary study.

-Meister Hall, The Auditorium of the Bronx High School of Science is named after Dr. Morris Meister, his portrait is displayed at it's doors. The school's Taffel Library is named after Meister's successor, Dr. Alexander Taffel. The plaza in front of the school, Kopelman Plaza is named after Taffel's successor, Milton S. Kopelman.
