Morris Heights, Bronx

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Morris Heights is a neighborhood in the Southwest Bronx. It is surrounded by the Cross Bronx Expressway to the south, the Harlem River to the west, West Burnside Avenue to the north, and Grand Concourse to the east. The main thoroughfare is University Avenue (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd). Most of the shops are located along this thoroughfare between Featherbed Lane and West Tremont Avenue. The nearest subway is the 4 train at the 176th Street and Burnside Avenue stations. Thanks to the Dominican population located in Washington Heights, many Dominicans live in Morris Heights as well as nearby neighborhoods such as Highbridge and University Heights. Several buses run through the area taking them to Washington Heights. They include the Bx3, 18, and 36.
