[edit] Career
Morningwood received national exposure in the United States as a finalist in December 2005 Yahoo.com's Who's Next. They lost to BarlowGirl. They also gained much attention from touring with New York band Mindless Self Indulgence. Morningwood was scheduled to play alongside Courtney Love but the tour fell through due to Love's recent legal trouble. They did, however, open some dates for Gang of Four on their 2005 reunion tour.
Their debut album, Morningwood, was produced by Gil Norton, known for his work with Pixies, Catherine Wheel, and Echo and the Bunnymen. Singles from the album include "Nth Degree", "Jetsetter" and "New York Girls". They toured with Head Automatica in 2006 and are currently on tour with Action Action and The Sounds. Morningwood's "Nth Degree" has recently been used in a Mercury vehicles ad campaign that features actress Jill Wagner, and their song "Nu Metal" was used in the game SSX On Tour.
